Hugo and Me
Tinx
I have professionally studied art for 8 years in my youth and as a ‘not so ageing nanny’ have found my love again and inspiration in the ever changing world around me, en captured by the wonderful experiences I share with my grandbabies as they grow and experience life as we know it now.

I thoroughly enjoy creating bespoke one off pieces for my treasured customers in my art studio (was my husbands storage area that gradually diminished and became  my art studio : ) where I escape and therapeutically unleash my imagination and  artistic possibilities. I take my creations very seriously whilst having fun and occasional G+T /vino in hand!

Inspirations
I have always loved sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle! alongside crystals and rock formations, and try to reuse and recycle as much as possible. One of the inspirations for my work grew from a special moment shared with my beautiful daughter in Tasmania where I became aware of the inside of the mesmerising Purple Aura Quartz Geode and the Silver Blue Aura Quartz Geode. An air plant growing on a Crystal Geode fascinated me.

Whilst visiting her in Australia, I was treated to a visit to the incredible wine tasting venue in The Hunter Valley, owned by Lisa Mcquigan called 'Vamp'. What a venue ! Lisas unique style and inclusive optimism really resonated with another 1967 born child! Her attention to detail and passion for art, music, fashion and of course wine is kindred!

I have helped on site sometimes, viewing how they mix and apply the render. When dry, the texture reminded me of concrete.

Combined with all of these influences I set to work on expressing my individual flare through using this unprecedented medium.

I am always grateful for what I have, not what I don't. Having this positive outlook allows me to see such beautiful things that would other wise go unnoticed, and having experienced darker days, these moments are even more vivid and precious.

Even a walk to the shops, I'm looking at the concrete pavements, textures, how grass grows out of places you would think too arid. Highly recommend bug hunting with children, creepy crawlies become majestical creatures!

With all the sad, unkindness in our world today, its therapeutic to reflect and see how much we actually do have. I am blessed to have such wonderful, supportive family and friends with which to share my life with. For that I am eternally grateful.
